Lee Camp&#039;s &quot;Mere Christianity&quot; is another one that touches on the church-state issue (Camp basically modernizes Yoder&#039;s work in MC).

In terms of books that establish the political nature of Jesus, Brian McLaren&#039;s &quot;The Secret Message of Jesus&quot; is good.  JFP does similar work.
